Our BehindTheScenes series continues! Today we feature Vin Appenzeller, Apprentice Software Developer, who has been completing his internship with us for almost a year as part of his training as an IT specialist EFZ, specializing in application development. In this interview, Vin reveals how he came to IMS and what he particularly enjoys about his day-to-day work.
What do you appreciate most about your work at IMS AG?
I really appreciate being able to work independently. At the same time, I know that I can always count on my team if I have any questions. The work is very varied, and I even have the opportunity to work on my own projects together with the other interns. The motivating environment contributes to the high appeal of everyday working life.
Which IMS AG value do you particularly embody in your everyday work?
For me, it's curiosity. I really appreciate getting to know new topics and trying my hand at unfamiliar areas. This helps to maintain my daily motivation and presents a continuous challenge.
What did you want to be when you were a child?
When I was younger, I wanted to pursue a career as a police officer. The idea of helping people and contributing to maintaining security seemed extremely fascinating to me. Looking back, I realize that the job has more than just exciting aspects to offer. In addition to the appealing tasks, there are also a number of other responsibilities that are part of everyday life. As with many childhood dreams, over time you realize that some professions are more complex or different in reality than you imagined as a child. As a result, these professions may not be entirely suitable for you.
What three things are essential to your daily work routine?
